Job description

Position Title: Parts Specialist 

Reporting to: Parts Manager 

Department: Parts 

Central Power Systems & Services is a privately held company with deep roots going back to 1954.Our Mission Statement isforging long-lasting partnerships by providing first-class customer support. We live that statement every single day. We are looking for a Parts Specialist to help support that mission. 

JOB SUMMARY 

This position will work behind the counter in the parts department and be the “parts go-to” person Monday-Friday. It is helpful to have at least one year of experience in working with parts sales and delivery. Any experience with heavy equipment parts is a definite plus. All candidates should have excellent customer relations and communications skills. Compensation includes a competitive, team-based incentive plan based on department performance! 

Responsibilities 

  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers 

  • Work closely with vendors and customers to provide parts in a timely manner 

  • Prepare/perform daily & weekly shipments 

  • Organize and ship parts 

  • Provide shipping and receiving department support when needed 

  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures for shipping & receiving 

  • Research websites and vendor databases for parts pricing 

  • Actively seek opportunities to upsell to retail customers 

  • Assist customers with exchanges, returns and warranty claims 

  • Work to reduce overstocking and to remove obsolete parts 

  • Support Service Department to ensure adequate stocking and timely arrival of necessary parts 

  • Follow up with retail customers after the sale to ensure customer satisfaction

Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 

  • Previous parts experience (looking up and sourcing parts) 

  • 2+ years' experience working in parts department for heavy-duty diesel and/or construction equipment shop preferred 

  • Product knowledge  

  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication 

  • Customer facing experience 

  • Basic reading and math skills 

  • Strong attention to detail 

WORK CONDITIONS 

Physical Demands/Work Environment: 

This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs. It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.
