Associate Material Analyst for Materials Planning in  GAC Savannah

This role is open for ongoing recruitment in our Materials planning group. The materials planning group focuses on material planning requirements across Operations, Customer Support, and Completions. Inventory Control and Cycle Count Oversight Management for all Operational and Customer Support. Team supports networks for maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, validating accuracy through scheduled and recurring counts and audits. 

SAP experience preferred. 

Many of the shifts are standard shifts, but we do have some offshifts. The role may be unposted prior the scheduled end date based on business needs. 


 

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Entry level position. Experience in statistical demand forecasting, time-phased replenishment planning, and managing inventories preferred. APICS certificate (Association for supply chain and operations management) preferred. Position Purpose: Under general supervision, perform the supply chain management activities necessary to maintain accurate part inventories at optimum stock levels that ensure the business can meet global demands, as appropriate to area of specialization or expertise.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Support the planning, procurement, logistics and inventory management of parts throughout the business unit.
  2. Display ability to recognize emerging trends and understand their potential impact to the business.
  3. Understand the key performance indicators used to ensure supply chain service level goals are achieved.
  4. Comprehend the financial and logistical impact of inventory investment decisions.
  5. Assist in lifecycle planning on rotable and perishable inventory items as required.
  6. Support recommendations for changes to supply chain tactical plans in response to changing business requirements.
  7. Engage in discussions to determine whether excess inventory is subject to re-distribution, sale or disposal.
  8. Develop relationships with other functional areas to identify problems relating to shortages, distribution, customer provisioning, service center demand, and over-the-counter sales.
Additional Functions:
  1. Review forecasts and recommend adjustments. .
  2. Assist in developing replenishment plans which highlight future inventory imbalances. Recommend actions to re-balance inventory levels. .
  3. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports pertaining to current status of group/individual workload, inventory levels, associated logistics costs and overall customer fill rate. .
  4. Review engineering drawings, vendor part catalogs, and purchased on assembly items to determine initial spares requirements in support of new and existing product lines. .
  5. Complete audits as appropriate to area of specialization. .
  6. Limited travel may be required, as appropriate to area of specialization. .
Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
  1. Gulfstream intern or co-op experience preferred.
  2. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software experience strongly preferred.
  3. Knowledge of procurement procedures and manufacturing and parts distribution principles preferred.
  4. Ability to operate personal computer and be proficient in Microsoft Products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
