Job Description

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III to join our Structures and Bridge Design Group, based in Richmond, VA. Remote work options are available for qualified candidates. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative renewable energy and structural design projects in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Design steel piles and steel connections for a variety of structural applications
  • Develop cast-in-place concrete slab designs
  • Apply knowledge of renewable energy systems and terminology to structural design
  • Assist in developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Support project and task management activities
  • Contribute to marketing efforts and proposal development

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in solar structure design
  • PE License is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in structural design software, especially LPile, Mathcad, and Excel
  • Experience using AutoCAD for plan development
  • Familiarity with Excel/AutoCAD interoperability for creating pile plot plans is a plus

Compensation: Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $82,000-$90,000. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials and role complexity.
