• Conduct thorough assessments to identify clients' mental health needs, formulate clinical diagnoses, and create personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique situations.
• Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using various evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy, making adjustments as necessary based on client progress.
• Deliver crisis intervention support during acute mental health crises, employing effective de-escalation techniques and providing immediate coping strategies.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential client records, documenting treatment plans, progress notes, and assessment findings in compliance with ethical standards and legal regulations.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to promote integrated care and comprehensive strategies for client recovery.
• Educate clients and their families on mental health issues, treatment pathways, and community resources available, advocating for their needs and rights during treatment processes.
• Engage in continual professional development, attending workshops and training sessions to stay current with best practices and emerging methodologies in mental health therapy.

As a mental health therapist at Brain Builders Counseling Center, you will support a diverse range of clients, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and more. Our client population varies in age, background, and experience, requiring you to be culturally competent and sensitive to different perspectives and needs.

• Credentialed as a Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R) in New York State.
• A Master's or Doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related mental health field is essential.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic skills, and an understanding of best practices in therapeutic interventions.
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in providing mental health counseling is required.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients effectively.
