As a full-time therapist, you will have the opportunity to work remotely while rendering support and guidance to individuals, couples, families, and groups. Through your expertise in mental health care, you will help clients tackle their challenges, enhance their resilience, and promote personal growth.

About the Organization

Brain Builders Counseling Center, located in New York, is a community health clinic focused on improving the mental well-being of our clients. We believe in a holistic approach to mental health treatment, emphasizing the importance of community, support, and collaboration. Our team comprises seasoned professionals who share a profound commitment to empowering clients and fostering a culture of acceptance, respect, and understanding.

Work Environment

This position is designed to be fully remote, allowing our therapists the flexibility to provide care from their own homes while seamlessly connecting with clients through telehealth platforms. Despite the virtual setting, we maintain a strong sense of team cohesion through regular meetings, collaborative case discussions, and continuous communication. The organization champions a supportive culture, where employees are encouraged to share their insights and experiences, contributing to collective growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify clients’ needs, form clinical diagnoses, and establish tailored treatment plans.
  • Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities that resonate with each client's unique circumstances.
  • Provide crisis intervention strategies and support for clients experiencing acute mental health crises, ensuring immediate and effective care.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date client records in alignment with ethical and legal standards, including treatment plans, progress notes, and assessment results.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, primary care physicians, and social workers, to deliver comprehensive care and integrated treatment solutions for clients.
  • Educate clients and their families on mental health conditions, available treatments, and community resources to empower informed decision-making.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in mental health practice through ongoing education, attending workshops, and engaging in professional development activities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

At Brain Builders Counseling Center, our clients come from diverse backgrounds and may face a wide array of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and more. We focus on fostering an inclusive environment where every client feels safe, understood, and respected. We recognize that mental health is not one-size-fits-all; we strive to adapt our therapeutic approaches to best meet the specific needs of each individual.

Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid license as a Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R) in New York.
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
  • Possess strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills relevant to a diverse client base.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in mental health counseling.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster therapeutic relationships.
  • Self-motivated, able to work autonomously, while also functioning effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards to uphold client confidentiality and dignity.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous clinical experience in a community health setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience with teletherapy platforms and remote counselling methods will be considered a plus.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 85,000 to 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance options for you and your family.
  • Generous paid time off and holiday policy to promote work-life balance.
  • Continuing education and opportunities for professional development to enhance your skills and maintain licensure.
  • A supportive work culture with regular team-building activities and feedback sessions.
Career Growth Opportunities

Joining Brain Builders Counseling Center not only allows you to make a significant impact on your clients' lives but also provides a platform for your professional advancement. We encourage our employees to undertake further education and training, with opportunities to transition into leadership roles, program development, or specialized therapeutic practices based on your interests and career goals.
