Job description
What You'll Do:
- Provide administrative support for editorial director and executive editor, including setting up meetings, shipping packages, managing the imprint library and backlist, responding to queries, liaising with other departments, taking minutes, drafting acquisitions memos and P&L's, monitoring book production schedules and due dates, and running sales and title reports.
- Prepare and traffic forms and requests related to all parts of the publishing process for the managers, including metadata input, contract requests, invoices, pricing requests, author/agent book orders, payment requests, Library of Congress CIP data, etc.
- Organize materials for presentations for internal and external meetings, including sales launch and edit meetings.
- Maintain professional and responsive communication with authors and agents.
- Log, read, and evaluate submissions.
- Provide editorial support such as reading, proofreading, and line editing.
- Write copy for sales materials, tipsheets, catalogs, book jackets, online feeds, metadata, etc.
What You'll Bring:
- Attention to detail and excellent follow through on tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proofreading or copy editing experience a plus.
- Ability to prioritize, respond to shifting and fast-paced environment, and work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace programs.
- Demonstrated interest in the children's book market.
- Previous book publishing experience/internships a plus.
- Previous media or entertainment experience/internships a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
The salary for this role is $50,000.
