What is an entry level remote investment job?

Entry level remote investment jobs are positions in the investment and finance sector that can be performed from home or any remote location, and are suitable for candidates with little or no prior experience. These roles often include tasks such as assisting with market research, supporting analysts, client communication, monitoring portfolios, and administrative duties. Remote investment jobs allow newcomers to gain valuable experience in the finance industry while enjoying the flexibility of working outside a traditional office setting. They may be found at investment firms, financial advisory companies, or fintech startups, and often require strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

What are the typical responsibilities and work structure of an entry level remote investment job?

In an entry level remote investment role, you can expect to assist with market research, prepare financial reports, support portfolio analysis, and process trade-related documentation. Most remote teams use collaboration tools like Slack or Microsoft Teams to stay connected, with regular video meetings to discuss progress and assignments. You’ll often work independently but have access to senior analysts or managers for guidance and feedback. Time management is key, as tasks are often deadline-driven, and clear communication is essential to keep everyone aligned on team goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed for an entry level remote investment job?

To thrive as an Entry Level Remote Investment Analyst, you need a solid understanding of financial principles, basic investment strategies, and often a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Familiarity with financial analysis tools, spreadsheets (such as Microsoft Excel), and investment research platforms like Bloomberg or Morningstar is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective written communication help you interpret data and convey insights to stakeholders. These skills ensure accurate investment analysis and support informed decision-making in a remote and collaborative environment.

Job description

Real Estate Investment Associate
Commercial Real Estate Investment Firm | Farmington Hills, MI
Fully Remote (Experienced) / Hybrid (Entry-Level: 1 day/week in-office)
1099 Commission-Based | M-F, 8am-5pm
About the Role
Our client is a commercial real estate investment firm specializing in net lease and investment sales. They're looking for a driven, competitive Real Estate Investment Associate to join their team and build a career in CRE investment sales - no net lease experience required, just the work ethic to grind it out and the intelligence to close.
This is a full sales-cycle role: you'll prospect, nurture, and close deals with support from an in-house marketing team, paired partners, and a steady flow of company-provided leads.
Compensation
  • 1099 independent contractor role
  • $3,000/month draw while you build your pipeline
  • Commission splits starting at 50%, increasing over time
  • Average first-year associate earns ~$100K - and it scales up significantly from there as you grow your book

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Own the full sales cycle: cold calling, prospect nurturing, and assisting in closing
  • Maintain and grow a large database of clients and prospects
  • Hit or exceed assigned quotas
  • Cold call volume target: 250-300 calls per week
  • Leverage company-provided leads while also building your own database
  • Partner closely with senior team members (paired with partners at no cost against your split)
  • Marketing support is handled in-house - you focus on selling, not collateral

Must-Haves
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent real estate industry experience
  • Recent grads welcome, or candidates with some sales experience (net lease experience not required)
  • 1+ years of sales experience preferred but not required
  • Confident and comfortable with cold calling as a daily discipline
  • Competitive, go-getter personality with strong professional work ethic and integrity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Sharp - this is a hard business to make money in, and you need to be smart to succeed
  • Willingness to run 250-300 cold calls per week and live on a draw until your first close

Nice-to-Haves
  • Existing book of business or transferable investor relationships
  • 1031 exchange familiarity
  • Sale-leaseback or industrial experience (operator side)
  • General CRE investment sales background
