How to get into HVAC controls with no experience?

Entry-level HVAC controls positions typically require basic knowledge of HVAC systems and electrical components. Will HVAC techs be replaced by AI?

HVAC technicians perform hands-on tasks such as installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, which require manual skills and problem-solving that AI cannot fully replicate. While AI and automation can assist with diagnostics and system monitoring, the role of HVAC techs remains essential for physical work and complex troubleshooting. Continuous training and certification are important for adapting to new tools and technologies in the field.
