Position Overview

The Center for Mental Healthcare in Orlando, Florida, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our remote team full-time. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting patients dealing with trauma-related challenges, helping them navigate their emotional and mental health journeys through tailored treatment and compassionate care.

Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with patients in regular counseling sessions to thoroughly understand their mental and emotional challenges.
  • Conduct initial evaluations and assessments to identify patients' needs and to formulate individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement effective coping strategies and therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and other evidence-based practices tailored to trauma recovery.
  • Monitor patient progress throughout their treatment journey, making necessary adjustments to enhance therapeutic outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their support systems about effective stress and trauma coping mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including social services, healthcare providers, and community organizations, to coordinate holistic care for each patient.
  • Document patient interactions and treatment plans accurately, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Continuously pursue professional development through workshops and courses to maintain LMHC certification and stay abreast of industry trends and best practices.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role will be on trauma injury patients. You will work closely with individuals who are coping with the psychological and emotional effects of trauma, facilitating their resilience and personal growth. As a mental health counselor, you will be at the frontline of fostering healing and recovery, making an impactful difference in the lives of those you serve.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field.
  • Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience specifically working with trauma patients.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport and trust with patients.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with Salesforce or other case management systems is highly desirable.
  • A proven track record of implementing effective treatment plans for diverse patient populations.
