Position: Imaging Equipment Technician, Entry Level
JOB SUMMARY:
To perform inspection, preventative maintenance and low level repair of imaging equipment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative:
  • Maintains records of each work assignment.
  • Reads technical journals and literature related to job field.
  • Reads and interprets instructional and maintenance manuals as well as blue prints, mechanical drawings and schematic diagrams related to equipment services.
  • Participates in organized eduation and training activities to upgrade job knowledge and job performance.
  • Initiates requests for replacement parts and materials.
  • Must be able to travel as necessary to perform the technical tasks below.
  • Performs any and all tasks within his/her capabilities as may be requried to help meet overall corporate objectives.

Technical
  • Operates and understands basic test equipment, such as focal spot test tools, tomo test tools light filed/x-ray field test tools, HVL test tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and microprocessor based equipment.
  • Uses common hand tools as required in the performance of job tasks.
  • Removes and replaces standard electronic and mechanical components.
  • Within six to nine months, should be prepared to assume on-call repair responsibilities.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Interacts in a professional manner with all client staff, patients and co-workers.
  • Maintains knowledge of, and compliance with, ISS Solutions Service Reporting System, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of, and compliance with corporate, and client mandated policies regarding workplace safety issues (infection control, fire safety, hazard communications, etc.)
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems to the modular level.
  • Demonstrated proper and effective use of test equipment, radiation analyzers, computers and tools associated with data gathering for radiology P.M.'s.
  • Performs mechanical and electronic component replacements.
  • Reads schematic diagrams and identifies component parts.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Should have completed a two-year Associated degree program in Electrical engineering, Clinical engineering or have a military equivalent.
  • Must be two to three years experience in troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate electrical aptitude.
