Job description


Position Title: Systems Engineer - Radar Test
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Systems Engineer - Radar Test opportunity located in Crane, IN.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Developing subsystem and system-level test plans and reports for radar sensor and signal processing systems
  • Leading and conducting various kinds of testing including hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SWIL), anechoic chamber testing, and field-level radar testing
  • Leading root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations and eliminating contributors through analysis and/or hands-on testing
  • Working in conjunction with Software Engineering teams to develop software system requirements and test requirements for radar signal processing, tracking, and discrimination algorithms
  • Supporting radar field test planning, system preparation, and test execution at government test ranges and other test facilities
  • Developing system architectures for radar systems and subsystems including RF front-end, signal processing chains, and data handling
  • Conducting trade studies and performing design research of engineering concepts to determine optimal requirements and system architecture
  • Developing system/subsystem interface definitions, system schematics, and design documentation; performing peer reviews of fellow team members' work
  • Participating in planning, design, testing, and deployment of moderately complex engineered radar systems to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements
  • Leading or supporting system engineering technical reviews (SETR) including Test Readiness Reviews (TRR).

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • 7-15 years of industry experience in defense or aerospace development programs
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or higher
  • Hands-on integration and test experience with radar systems and/or RF subsystems is a must
  • Development-side program experience required; candidates from government support or SETA/advisory roles will not be considered
  • Demonstrated testing best practices including managing test configurations, adhering to safety procedures, and organizing data collection and analysis
  • Experience with radar signal processing, RF hardware, phased array systems, or target tracking algorithms strongly preferred
  • Sharp analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated technical leadership capabilities with a results-oriented, hands-on approach.
