Job Title: Radiology Tech

Position Overview
The Rad Tech is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform radiologic procedures for a specified patient population. This role ensures quality imaging services while adhering to regulatory standards and organizational policies. The Rad Tech  models behavior consistent with West Cancer Center's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Manage resources such as supplies and equipment effectively.
  • Plan and complete job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior and provide excellent customer service in all interactions.
  • Observe and instruct student technologists and occasionally demonstrate job responsibilities to other associates as needed.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.

Credential/Licensure

  • Certification and registration as R.T. (R) ARRT.
  • State license in accordance with regulations in the state where work is performed.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (required for all new hires and transfers).

Substitution

  • New graduates of an accredited radiography program without ARRT primary certification must obtain certification and registry as R.T. (R) (ARRT) within one year of graduation from an approved program.

Skills & Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures.
  • Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred as stated in source).
