Job description

Description:

The Research Coordinator supports a broad range of research projects from the initial study design through final data dissemination. The position provides administrative, organizational and technical support to projects, and contributes to thought leadership.


The Coordinator’s work will include conceptualizing and implementing new projects as well as fostering collaborations with patients, researchers and research institutions. The Research Coordinator will work under minimal supervision under the direction of the Research Director and will work with internal and external partners on a daily basis. The position requires proficiency in knowledge of research design, methodology, fielding and reporting.


The Coordinator is a rigorous, self-directed researcher with strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to translate complex data into compelling, accessible formats for diverse audiences.


Position Responsibilities


Research Design and Project Management

• Manage, support and contribute to multiple concurrent research projects

• Conceptualize, design, and implement new research initiatives

• Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative research studies

• Conduct literature reviews to inform study design and ongoing projects

• Contribute to development of research proposals and concept papers

Data Analysis and Reporting

• Perform statistical analyses and interpret research findings

• Develop data tables, figures, and graphical representations of results

• Translate research findings into reports, articles, manuscripts, presentations, and blog content for diverse audiences

Research Translation and Knowledge Dissemination

• Translate medical and scientific research into accessible content supporting education and advocacy efforts

• Translate clinical trial listening into accessible content in support of recruitment efforts

• Support drafting and submission of abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations for peer-reviewed journals and conferences

Project Coordination & Operations

• Recruit and coordinate advisors, participants, and research subjects

• Complete timely IRB submissions and related compliance documentation

• Coordinate communications with consultants and vendors

• Assist in planning and coordinating meetings, events, and outreach activities

• Support program validation and evaluation efforts with community and education teams

• Provide research support across departments and special projects as needed

Digital & Knowledge Management

• Maintain research and statistics content across organizational websites and digital platforms

• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and accessibility of publicly facing research materials

Miscellaneous

• Other duties as assigned

• Occasional travel required

Requirements:

Skills and Knowledge

• Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including survey design, data analysis, and evaluation methodology

• Familiarity with epidemiology and public health research methods

• Ability to support multiple large, concurrent projects with a high degree of independence, accuracy, and follow-through

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• Experience attending scientific or professional conferences and engaging with attendees

• Familiarity with IRB processes and research ethics

• Ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners

• Knowledge of asthma, allergies, or related chronic conditions preferred

• Proficiency in Office 365 Suite; experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, or similar) and data visualization tools preferred

• Comfort with and curiosity about emerging tools, including AI for data analysis, literature review, and research communications


Experience

• Entry-level position, 2 years of research, analytics, or statistics experience preferred

• Experience with computer and research software

• Experience with patient-centered research, survey methodology, or needs assessments preferred

• Experience with health literacy and health research a plus

• Experience working with federal funding contracts or grant-funded research a plus

• Experience presenting research to professional, scientific, or public audiences

• Experience working in a nonprofit or patient advocacy organization a plus


Education

• Bachelor's degree required in public health, epidemiology, health sciences, social sciences, or a related field
