The process technician assists other operations to assure that the production processes are performing properly with respect to safety, quality, and output; assists in data collection, training, and documentation of assigned projects by department process engineer or plant management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other Duties As Assigned)
  • Analyze processes, equipment, materials to determine efficient manufacturing methods and process improvements.
  • Monitors processes on a continual basis for continuing improvements and/or modifications.
  • Coordinate activities of support personnel and manufacturing to resolve process problems.
  • Investigate root cause of production issues by troubleshooting machine operations/recipe setup and repair where possible.
  • Assist in training operators on process awareness, monitoring and control.
  • Provide process data as recommended for standard or experimental products.
  • Assist R&D project leaders when running experimental trials.
  • Assist Engineering in operator training of new and/or upgraded equipment.
  • Assist in Recipe creations and updates for new equipment or new products.
  • Provide technical assistance to operations on proper operation of control systems on new/modified equipment installations.
  • Maintain high standard of cleanliness and organization at job sites
  • Assures safe work practices and company/plant policies are adhered to
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Analyze drawings, manuals, materials, and processes to design or improve a manufacturing method.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency with word processing documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written language skills.
  • Ability to work within continuous improvement strategies at the plant level including data collection, compliance demonstrations, root cause analysis, and process changes necessary to assure compliance with applicable requirements and goals.
  • Ability to train others in the proper operation of complex production equipment.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and work cross functional with operations, maintenance, automation and R&D.
  • Ability to work well with vendors.
JOB REQUIREMENTS And QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education/Certification Requirements
    • Two year College Degree (AS) or equivalent manufacturing experience
  • Experience in process improvement or engineering
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Strong math skills
  • Experience in Autocad or Solidworks is a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Work requires hearing, mental and visual attention.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs., able to bend and lift frequently. Lifting of dies and machine parts while working on machine processes and improvements, assistance will be available for heavy items.
