Job Title
Quality Process Engineer
Position Overview
Join our team in Ringgold, GA as a Quality Process Engineer and play a key role in driving excellence across manufacturing operations. In this high-impact position, you'll partner with plant leadership to advance quality systems, leverage data-driven insights, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance and product quality. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineer to influence plant success, champion Lean/Six Sigma practices, and make a measurable difference every day.
Essential Duties:
  • Lead Quality Continuous Improvement Culture in the plant through the Corrective Action system, Kaizen Events, Root Cause Analysis exercises, and other Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.

  • Own and drive projects through the CITI (Continuous Improvement Through Ideas) Program. Maintain the CITI forms and conduct monthly meetings. Create CITI certs, order and distribute prizes. Update the RP homepage and CITI log.

  • Implement and maintain Process control using control charts, tracking metrics and trends, and seeking improvement opportunities using quality process data.

  • Monitor the Plant RP Quality Logs and disposition material with test results. Question and retest material as needed if the numbers look questionable.

  • Initiate, prepare samples, and capture test data results from Central Lab Testing.

  • Serve as liaison between Manufacturing, Distribution, Customer Service, and Financial Services.
  • Arrange events and maintain the database for the calibration of critical to quality instruments.
  • Train lab associates with any new procedural changes that occur, routinely auditing for accuracy and procedural compliance.

  • Maintain, create and update documents in the RP Sharepoint, AODocs and Dozuki.
  • Generate and distribute reports for the Quality Manager to include, but not limited to: Weekly Plant RP Off Quality Report

  • Weekly Dashboard Report, as needed

  • Assist in claims research and resolution as needed, which may include travel to other Shaw Facilities or jobsites, on occasion.

  • Attend daily Tier II meetings.

  • Manage the flow and execution of the flashback system by working with department heads and engineers.

Additional Job Duties:
  • Review and assist in making disposition of any non-conforming materials or products.

  • Assist in warehouse material audits when suspect material must be put on hold. Material will have to be sampled from multiple pallets to ensure it is acceptable to take off hold, as needed.

  • Lead weekly 1st day back meeting for each shift, as needed.

  • Make regular rounds on the production floor to ensure quality compliance. Give directions when nonconformance is found.

  • Assist and/or perform outturn approvals with response to print film suppliers as needed.

  • Assist with plant SMS certifications and audits. Lead internal audits, as needed.

  • Participate in external audits as required by Shaw's SMS system representing Plant RP.

  • Communicate any problems or concerns to the Quality Manager in a timely manner.

Training Requirements
  • Four (4) year Engineering degree required

  • Six Sigma Black Belt trained or willingness to complete training

  • Must be familiar with current computer systems and software.

  • Must be able to pass the Munsell Color Test

  • Must be able to stand for extended amounts of time and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

  • Fill in for the Quality Manager/Supervisor when needed
