Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Are you a Quality Control Inspector looking for an opportunity to grow? Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Gonzales, LA, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and conform to design specifications, customer requirements, and industry regulations. You will conduct thorough inspections throughout the production process, utilize precision measuring tools and instruments, and perform dimensional and geometric assessments using advanced technologies.
This role is 1st Shift- Monday- Friday 7:30pm - 4:00pm
As a Quality Control Inspector you will:
  • Conduct inspections at various stages of production to ensure compliance with design, customer specifications, and industry standards.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools and instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
  • Analyze and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to ensure product conformity.
  • Identify and communicate non-conformances, deviations, and quality issues to machine shop supervisor, engineers, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Document inspection results, maintain accurate quality records, and prepare reports.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support to machine shop operators on quality-related matters, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Conduct non-destructive examination (NDE) testing on materials and products using methods such as visual inspection, magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic testing, radiography, etc.
  • Interpret and evaluate NDE test results, report any defects or issues to management and production teams.

Who you are:
You build and deliver solutions that meet customer expectations, optimally communicate in various settings, and stayed productive and aligned with your goals.
Required education, experience & skills:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency (G.E.D.)
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is a must.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and effective approach in high-stress situations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and other technical documents.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools and instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and Microsoft Excel for data entry, tracking, and reporting.

Preferred education, experience & skills:
  • 2 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of and prior experience with Fisher products, manufacturing processes and organization preferred.
  • Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn proprietary systems.
