Precast Quality Control Inspector
Position Summary
The Precast Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all precast concrete products meet project specifications, applicable codes, and internal quality standards. This role performs inspections throughout the manufacturing process, verifies documentation, identifies nonconformances, and works closely with production, engineering, and management to prevent defects and reduce rework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect precast concrete products at all stages of production (form setup, reinforcing placement, embeds, concrete placement, finishing, curing, stripping, and storage).
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and embed placement per drawings and specifications.
  • Properly fabricate and store concrete test cylinders in accordance with standards.
  • Ensure materials used comply with approved submittals and mix designs.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, test reports, and nonconformance documentation.
  • Review shop drawings, specifications, and quality plans to ensure compliance.
  • Identify, document, and report defects or deviations promptly.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Provide feedback to production teams to prevent repeat defects.
  • Support training and mentoring of production personnel on quality expectations and best practices.
  • Follow all plant safety rules and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection and testing area.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of experience in quality control, or related field a plus.
  • Working knowledge of concrete processes, materials, and terminology a plus.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and inspection criteria.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with ACI, ASTM, and PCI standards a plus.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical amp; Work Requirements
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting to 50 lbs as required.
  • Use of PPE as required.
