Job Description
The Quality Assurance (QA) Associate is responsible for assisting the QA Manager and QA Specialists in the maintenance of QC records, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training records, Demonstrations of Capability (DOCs); maintaining accurate information in LIMS modules including sample splitting, equipment information, and analyst information. Additional responsibilities may include assisting in reviewing Quality Assurance Project Plans, gathering information and reference materials requested by clients and other laboratories, gathering supporting documentation for auditors and certifications, and other functions in support of the QA Manager's responsibilities as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As assigned by the QA Manager, the duties and responsibilities may include all or some of the following items:
  • Monitors support equipment program
  • Assists with generation and review of Control Charts and Method Detection Limit (MDL) studies;
  • Prepares logbooks for use in the laboratory;
  • Transcribes hard copy documents into a digital platform;
  • Assists with organization of the corrective action system;
  • Assists QA Manager with accreditation authorities including updating certification module and gathering information for renewals and amendment applications;
  • Assists in maintaining accurate information in LIMS modules including sample splitting, equipment information, etc.;
  • Assists the Quality Specialists and lab staff with internal audits, corrective action review, and overall implementation of the QA program;
  • Responsible for refrigerator holding blanks;
  • Assists with preparation and reporting of monthly QA performance indicators;
  • Assist with Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) reviews and with the preparation of UFP-QAPP Worksheets;
  • Assist with external audits and client visits;
  • Assist with maintaining the document control database;
  • Ensures records are archived and stored properly;
  • Assist with answering questions from clients and laboratory staff;
  • Maintains Laboratory Staff Demonstration of Capability (DOC) roster;
  • Responsible for guidance in on-boarding new employees, creating new-hire packets, assigning new hire tasks and follow-up of their completion, and maintaining training records.

Additional Information
Compensation range: $20 - $22 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
Position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm shift with overtime and possible weekends as needed.
