Job description

Overview

The QA Improvement Specialist is responsible for performing field claim analysis, daily repair order reviews, Quality Information Report (QIR) processing, and communication with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Mobis Headquarters (HQ), and suppliers regarding issues relating to quality assurance.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Create and modify quality assurance report including monthly field claim analysis and status
  • Identify field claim trends, participate in supplier ratio investigations, and investigate supplier objections
  • Analyze field claim Repair Orders (R/O) provided through the quality systems
  • Identify and investigate R/O trends and issues
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for quality defects and maintain Quality Information database and Quality Improvement related documents
  • Maintain database and all documents relating to Quality Inspection Reports (QIR), and find root causes and countermeasures for quality defects
  • Complete the Customer Satisfaction/Reliability Study (CS1M/RS1M) status report as demanded
  • Cooperate with Headquarters in Korea on monthly Quality Status
  • Cooperate with Quality Control to analyze the assembly line processes and implement process improvements
  • Collaborate with OEM on the returned part root cause analysis and other QA events
  • Stay informed of part Engineering Order changes and trials, and analyze the results to determine if any potential warranty claims may exist
  • Provide support for Quality Control team and address questions and concerns
  • Execute on-site supplier audits for quality improvement to assure validity and reliability of manufacturing and quality processes of the Suppliers
  • Perform and support quality assurance and problem containment activities in accordance with quality management systems
  • Evaluate audit findings and implement appropriate corrective actions
  • Comply with and promote safety in the workplace, to include attending safety meetings as well as conduct safety meetings when necessary
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree other than engineering plus two (2) or more years of experience in a technical role within the engineering or manufacturing industries

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Data Analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Customer Service Orientation

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Product or industry-specific experience
  • Quality inspection, auditing, and testing experience

Working Conditions

  • 60% office, 20% production floor, 20% OEM or Suppliers site
  • Traversing around production floor
  • Chances of lifting up to 30 lbs
