QA/QC Technician – Prism Electric

Responsibilities:

  • Work with superintendents and foremen to plan and organize activities concerned with construction projects.
  • Confer with supervisors and foremen to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints and construction problems.
  • Perform quality and compliance inspections.
  • Record and organize all necessary documentation to memorialize the implementation, maintenance, and effectiveness of the QC program.
  • Monitor all QC/QA documentation and any other reports that are required for the project.
  • Inspect and test systems and auxiliary equipment to locate and identify problems using reading and testing instruments.
  • Track, manage, and monitor supplies and materials received and used to complete the project.
  • Continually develop QC/QA procedures and logs.
  • Work with and communicate effectively with subcontractors, superintendents, office staff, engineering staff, consultants, and owner representatives to facilitate project activities.
  • Coordinates work assignment preparation and completion with other workers.
  • Investigate potentially serious situations and suggest corrective measures.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Work with/train QC Monitor's and Superintendents to promote Prism's *AQTRD Monitor program to monitor quality.
  • Assure that QC inspection forms are completed in the field and filed before energization.
  • Assure the Megger log is updated and organized and filed before energizing feeder.
  • Assure that the torque log is updated, organized, and filed before energizing equipment.
  • Assure with assistance of superintendent and project manager that the project is in compliance with job Specifications.
  • Notify the QC manager if any training is needed. (megger, torque wrench, gr. point tester etc.)
  • Assure that the recorded drawings are updated every week.
  • Assure that Sign-off that proper documentation is completed and filed before start-up of any piece of equipment on project or the energization of feeders.

It is the responsibility of the appointed Quality Control Monitor to ensure that each of these tasks is being performed and documented as required. It is not a requirement that the QC Rep. perform each of these tasks personally, just to ensure that they are completed and documented at the time of the inspection/task.

Requirements:

  • Proven people management, process management, and performance management skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installation requirements and NEC.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

The job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, and rain. Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses always), respirator when required. Able to work 8 -10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts. Includes crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects more than 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required. Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.
