Job Description
Salary:$28.27 Hourly
Perform receiving, in-process and final inspections on parts, sub assemblies, material set ups and products as required to determine compliance with documents such as customer or military specifications, blueprints, standards, production routing and written instructions. Assist production and design engineering with quality data generation.
Maintain and dispense a variety of tooling and supply items from the tool crib.
DUTIES
  • Perform inspections as stated with available equipment such as gauges, micrometers, calipers and comparators.
  • Make qualifying decisions on basic materials, casting and tooling using inspection data obtained.
  • Keep accurate records as required.
  • Calibrate inspection equipment such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Authorize MRR, production routers and repair routers.
  • Similar or less skilled work in classification as required.
  • Set-up and maintain tool department and inventory records.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to perform all duties with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, Mil Specs, standards and shop routings.
  • Ability to use basic shop math.
  • Ability to use, calibrate and make minor repairs and adjustments to inspection equipment.
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and be capable of presenting the products and data to the customers in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of electromechanical, electronics and basic electrical components and operations.
  • Knowledge of processes and equipment used in production.
  • New employees must attain satisfactory proficiency in three months.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Inside work - air conditioned
  • Work performed sitting or standing
  • Manual dexterity to handle products and operate inspection equipment
  • Eyesight natural or corrected to perform close inspections
  • Must meet vision criteria per QP-005
