Job description

Location: 9203 F Street, Omaha, NE, 68127, US
Schedule: Full Time 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, 3:30pm until 12:00am. Hours based on business needs.
Essential job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Collects samples for Lab Analysis. Cut, weigh, enrich and incubate samples for Lab Analysis. Run samples through heating blocks, cooling block and lysis tubes. Analyze samples via PCR and Bax System. Create and distribute Lab Analysis report. Release or retain product based on Lab Analysis results. Monitor and record temperatures for incubators and heating blocks. Calibrate Thermometers. Count APC and coliform colonies on Petri film.
  • Monitors and inspects repack and finished product items to insure conformance to OSI specifications. Records on quality control sheets.
  • Monitors incoming raw materials with respect to temperature, labeling and condition. Records information on quality control sheets. Monitors incoming non-manufactured items for adherence to OSI specifications and records information on quality control sheets.
  • Performs daily inspection of operational sanitation practices, observes employee hygiene, product storage facilities, and evidence of cross - contamination. Notes deficiencies and corrective actions on quality control sheets.
  • Monitors HACCP compliance on regulated products - choice production, cooked and marinated products. Takes appropriate action where necessary.
  • Inspects returned product and determines disposition. Records on quality control sheets.
  • Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Lab work experience preferred
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Effective communication skills
  • Data entry experience helpful
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Minimum one year experience in meat production
