Information & Application Developer (Entry Level and Associate)

The Boeing South Carolina Engineering Design Center (BSC EDC) has an exciting opportunity for an Information & Application Developer (Entry Level and Associate).

Position Overview:

The BSC EDC is a multi-functional organization focused on supporting the growth and development of the BSC engineering community. In this role, you will assist in maintaining and improving existing websites and applications, as well as contribute to the design and implementation of new tools. You will work closely with end users to gather feedback and help implement improvements. This position offers a valuable opportunity to learn more about software engineering practices, as well as Boeing ESATS and Application Manager compliance requirements, supporting efforts to ensure all applications meet these standards. Additionally, you will develop skills in analyzing and utilizing data from multiple sources to help enhance EDC services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Gather and evaluate end user requirements to improve applications.

  • Analyze data from multiple sources, including SQL databases, to support decision-making and enhance services.

  • Assist in writing and maintaining code to automate data access, processing, and analysis; assist in constructing database objects.

  • Create and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to visualize data and provide insights.

  • Design, program, test, and maintain computing applications under guidance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic programming or application issues.

  • Learn and apply Boeing ESATS and Application Manager compliance requirements to ensure application security and compliance.

  • Collaborate with team members to review system performance and recommend improvements.

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the North Charleston, SC location.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience or relevant coursework in web application development or data analysis.

  • Understanding of relational databases.

  • Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools.

  • Basic experience with Python.

  • Understanding of HTML and basic web technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited course of study, in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or physics.

  • Desire to be part of the BSC Engineering community.

  • Hands-on experience with SQL, preferably PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL.

  • Experience with JavaScript programming and frameworks like React.

  • Familiarity with data reporting and performance metrics.

  • Hands-on experience with Git and other industry standard development tools.
