Job description

Construction Manager (Associate) – Walt Disney Imagineering

Location: Anaheim | Term: 24-month contract with potential to extend

About the Role

Francison Consulting, Inc., team is seeking an Associate Construction Manager to support on-site construction activities for a defined project scope — guest rooms, graphics, FF&A, restaurant, retail, or similar self-contained work — within financial parameters and to Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) /Disney Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP) high-quality standards.

Construction Management is the primary studio responsible for everything that happens on WDI construction sites, including impacts to Operations. In this role, you'll supervise and coordinate on-site work through installation, monitoring safety, quality, and schedule while providing technical expertise and ensuring work meets contract documents, applicable codes, and Disney standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the scope of a small project or self-contained portion of a larger project, within budget and to WDI/DPEP quality standards
  • Support informational flow and tracking, including submittals, RFIs, and QA/QC
  • Recommend solutions for product and people conflicts within your project scope
  • Assist in finalizing budgets and preparing professional bid packages
  • Manage relationships with Owner/Operator
  • Support the field team in resolving daily issues with Ride, Show, Entertainment, and other partners
  • Assist with Assistant Construction Management tasks and punch/completion lists
  • Coordinate across WDI and DPEP departments (Project Management, Estimating, Scheduling, Ride Engineering) and external vendors/contractors
  • Track permits via COA (Disneyland Resort) or Accela (Walt Disney World)
  • Manage construction site badging and site aerial photography
  • Provide administrative support to the field team and fill in for field roles (e.g., covering superintendents) as needed
  • Complete the WDI CM Studio "90 Day Expert Program" covering QA/QC and Safety responsibilities per the California CM ToolBOX
  • Build familiarity with WDI CM duties as defined in the CM ToolBOX

Role Scope

This position focused on small projects or a small part of a larger project, with budget responsibility up to $1 million. The role involves entry-level business acumen around means, methods, and building systems. Leadership scope is moderate and may include leading and developing interns. You have decision-making independence within your assigned scope. You keep the team leader informed, who makes the majority of project decisions, while you focus on implementation.

Qualifications

  • College degree in a WDI core discipline — Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field/technical school
  • Entry-level understanding of construction means, methods, and building systems
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate across multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, on-site field environment
