Jr Chemical Lab Technician (Part-time)

Position Summary

Triton's Sustainment group is a fast-paced, interdisciplinary engineering team focused on working on a wide variety of projects. The primary role of the Lab Technician is to assist in functioning, testing, and coating on various projects as directed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct and monitor laboratory tests under the direction of engineering staff.
  • Prepare test items prior to test, clean up following tests and prepare test apparatus for subsequent testing.
  • Manage data transfer and process data using predefined scripts and procedures.
  • Assist chemists with material synthesis.
  • Clean work area, tools and equipment and perform other routine duties associated with day-to-day operations and equipment upkeep in the lab.

Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in curriculum for lab technician, chemistry, or chemical engineering at a community college or 4-year university level.
  • Completion of 1 year of curriculum including 1 semester of chemistry wet lab experience.
  • General familiarity with standard lab safety protocols.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Require 15-20 hours per week, flexible hours, but will need to be in-person and on a regular schedule.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/REQUIREMENTS

The employee is required to stand; walk; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Lift 25-50 pounds.
  • Climb stairs/ladders, stand, balance, stoop, squat, reach, and lift/carry objects.
  • Twist, sit with back supported, head forward/flexed, head tilted/rotated.

Base salary range is dependent on experience and qualifications
