Job description

Job Location - Farmington Hills, MII
Your Contribution:
As a Project Buyer you will be working to fulfill customer deliverables for all purchasing requirements of the project during acquisition and development phases cost targets, supplier PPAP timing, USMCA content, and updates project team on all critical items.
  • Prepare RFQ, evaluate and assess supplier's quotations to ensure commercial, technical and quality objectives are achieved. Evaluate and provide component costing based on program BOM timing during acquisition.
  • Schedule technical component reviews.
  • Lead sourcing decisions, in accordance with MAHLE Purchasing Procedures and work with commodity buyers (regional and global) to leverage best overall landed costs.
  • Ensure purchased components meet all program milestones, track and coordinate progress between suppliers and development team.
  • Communicate supplier risks to project team.
  • Effectively communicate with development team members throughout MAHLE facilities worldwide including the generation and presentation of project status updates to management.

Your Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (english/japanese) is a must.
  • Hands on experience using Excel is a must.
  • 2+ years of experience within negotiation and project management is a must.
  • Detailed knowledge of markets of the electronic commodity is preferred.
  • Understanding and use of cost drivers and market dynamics in the electronic commodity is a must.
  • Can communicate effectively on technical topics and can understand technical drawings is a must.
  • Tier 1 Automotive industry experience preferable but not required.
