Job Description

Position Purpose:

The Associate Project Engineer provides technical and administrative support for new metering projects from initiation through completion. This role works closely with project managers, project engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with standards.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing new metering system projects.
  • Support project managers with scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Prepare Project Request Forms (PRF) and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Monitor project progress and report on milestones, risks, and issues.
  • Perform field inspections and site visits to verify installation progress.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and engineering standards.
  • Assist with commissioning and troubleshooting metering systems.
  • Prepare project documentation and progress reports.
  • Participate in project meetings with the project manager and project engineer.
  • Assist in resolving technical problems during project execution.
Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related field).
  • 1–3 years of engineering or project experience (entry-level candidates may also be considered).
  • Basic understanding of electrical, flow and BTU meters.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or other engineering software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints and one line drawings.
