Position Overview

The Laboratory Business Systems Analyst serves as a liaison between business users, IT Application Analysts and Operations Analytics. This position requires a deep understanding of Laboratory systems and their application within business processes, with responsibility for analyzing, designing, testing, and implementing solutions that improve operational effectiveness. The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders to gather requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop strategies to enhance system performance. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting issues, providing training to end-users, developing system testing plans and ensuring system alignment with organizational goals.


The successful candidate demonstrates excellent problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment. The role requires the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and a proven track record of delivering successful projects

Essential Duties

Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform ERP enhancements and new implementations with oversight and defined objectives.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements; translate business needs into system design solutions with oversight.
  • Execute assigned project tasks across analysis, design, testing, validation, user training, and post-go-live support.
  • Perform functional testing, coordinate and document UAT with end users, and support go-live activities under oversight.
  • Provide production support by troubleshooting system issues, analyzing processes, and recommending appropriate courses of action.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external vendors to support assigned initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs and training materials and deliver end-user training to support system adoption.
  • Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.
  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Maintain Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds for approximately 5% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 80% of a typical working day.
  • Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.
  • Ability to travel 5% of working time away from work location. May include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a field related to essential duties; or Associates Degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 2 years of experience as business analyst supporting processes in systems such as SAP, Oracle, or other ERP.
  • Experience as an analyst in an operations, supply chain, and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience implementing existing business processes and systems during mergers and acquisitions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in operations, Supply Chain, Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
  • Proficiency in Atlassian (Confluence, Jira and Zephyr) or other digital project management platforms
  • Experience with AI platforms for developing practical agentic solutions
  • Experience in a biotech/life sciences manufacturing environment; preferably in a cGMP, ISO 13485, and/or CLIA environment.
  • Experience at a company with Computer Systems Validation processes in place or equivalent best practices and of change control as it relates to application systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Experience with SAP Fiori apps as a business user or in technical support role

Salary Range:

$76,000.00 - $125,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible.
