Job Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Entry-Level Residential and Commercial Service Glazier to join our team. As a Glazier, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining glass in residential and commercial settings. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the glazing industry while working with a skilled team of professionals. With our Glazier Certification Training programs we will help you develop proficiency in all areas of the glazier role and be paired with an instructor who will guide you through the comprehensive on-the-job training.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Glass Installation:
    • Install and replace glass in windows, storefronts, shower doors, mirrors, and other fixtures in residential and commercial buildings.
    • Measure, cut, and shape glass to specified dimensions using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Glass Repairs and Maintenance:
    • Assess and repair damaged glass in various installations, including windows, doors, and mirrors.
    • Handle emergency glass replacements and repairs for both residential and commercial clients.
    • Seal and caulk glass to ensure proper insulation and safety.
  • Customer Service and Communication:
    • Provide exceptional service to clients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Communicate effectively with clients to explain job requirements, timelines, and any necessary preparations for installation or repairs.
    • Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude while working on job sites and interacting with clients.
    • Experience with mobile application relevant to your job responsibilities or being comfortable using mobile technology to record and report work related functions.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of glass and tools.
    • Ensure that all glass installations and repairs comply with local building codes and safety standards.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and safety harnesses as needed.
    • Report any safety hazards or potential issues on job sites to supervisors.
  • Tool and Equipment Use:
    • Operate and maintain tools and equipment, such as glass cutters, suction cups, power tools, and safety gear.
    • Ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition and report any malfunctions or repairs needed.
  • Collaborative Work:
    • Work alongside senior glaziers and other team members to complete installations and repairs efficiently.
    • Assist with planning and preparing materials and tools for upcoming jobs.

  • Education & Experience:
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
    • Previous experience in the glazing or construction industry is a plus, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications (training provided if necessary).
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when measuring and cutting glass.
    • Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.
    • Good hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity.
    • Ability to lift heavy glass panels and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Communication:
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Customer service-oriented with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to lift and carry heavy glass panels (up to 50 pounds or more).
    • Must be comfortable working at heights, using ladders or scaffolding when required.
    • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
  • Work Environment:
    • Work will be performed on residential and commercial job sites.
    • Outdoor and indoor work, in various weather conditions.
    • Must be able to work in a variety of environments, including construction zones, and follow all safety protocols.
