Job description

Summary:
A General Maintenance will be responsible primarily for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas. Guest room and public area entry-level preventative maintenance are included. A General Maintenance Engineer will also perform some repairs on mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, requiring some skills and experience in these areas, as well as good communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Routine Maintenance:
    • Perform regular inspections of the hotel premises and equipment to identify and address maintenance issues.
    • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and other mechanical equipment.
    • Ensure the hotel's interior and exterior are well-maintained and in good repair.
  2. Repairs:
    • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues as needed.
    • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.
    • Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components and fixtures.
  3. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and hotel policies.
    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
  4. Equipment Management:
    • Monitor and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
    • Recommend the purchase of new equipment and supplies as needed.
    • Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order and properly stored.
  5. Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other departments to ensure maintenance issues are resolved promptly.
