Lumber Production Operator

Location: Lewiston, ID
Pay: $23.92/hr (Day Shift) | $25.92/hr (Swing & Graveyard Shifts)
Schedule: Day, Swing, and Graveyard Shifts Available

Entry-Level Manufacturing & Lumber Production Opportunity

We are seeking dependable and hardworking Lumber Production Operators to join a high-tech lumber mill in Lewiston, Idaho. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, working as part of a team, and operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You'll work around large automated equipment that transforms raw logs into finished lumber products. This is a safety-focused, production-driven role that provides an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career in the wood products and manufacturing industry.

No lumber mill experience is required. Candidates with backgrounds in construction, warehouse operations, farming, manufacturing, production, general labor, or other physically demanding work environments are encouraged to apply.

Available Shifts
  • Day Shift: 5:00 AM–1:00 PM
  • Swing Shift: 4:00 PM–12:00 AM
  • Graveyard Shift: 8:00 PM–5:00 AM

New hires are strongly preferred for Graveyard Shift openings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate machinery and equipment to keep lumber moving through the production line
  • Monitor conveyors, scanners, saws, stackers, and automated systems
  • Inspect boards for defects and sort or feed them into the next machine
  • Clear small jams, make basic adjustments, and keep your station running smoothly
  • Communicate with team members before and after your station to keep the line in sync
  • Rotate through multiple positions and learn all major areas of green-lumber production
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and machine-awareness protocols
Qualifications & Skills
  • Heavy lifting ability — up to 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Comfortable performing physical, repetitive work
  • Strong attention to detail and basic math skills
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality control, and production standards
Experience Needed
  • No lumber mill experience required
  • This is an entry-level opportunity
  • Must have a background in physical work such as construction, warehouse operations, farming, production, manufacturing, general labor, or related industries
  • Experience working in loud, dusty, fast-paced, or industrial environments is highly preferred
