Role Overview
The Lab R&D Technician supports laboratory development activities and pilot-scale manufacturing operations for CMP slurry products. This role performs formulation, testing, material processing, and documentation activities while working in both cleanroom and manufacturing environments. The position contributes to product development, process scale-up, quality evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts while maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process laboratory, pilot-scale, and production-scale slurry formulations in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
  • Conduct product testing and analysis using polishing, metrology, and laboratory equipment to evaluate material performance and quality.
  • Operate cleanroom, milling, processing, and material-handling equipment while adhering to contamination control and safety requirements.
  • Document processing parameters, test results, material usage, and batch information to ensure accurate records and traceability.
  • Support troubleshooting, process development, scale-up activities, and cross-functional projects while maintaining safe and organized work areas.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, and standard operating practices.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety, PPE requirements, and chemical handling practices.
  • Ability to accurately document data and maintain production or laboratory records.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, documentation, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Laboratory experience involving chemicals, coatings, materials science, or manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working with laboratory equipment, PPE, and chemical handling procedures.
