Job Description

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer I 

Location: 50 Thomas Patten Dr., Randolph, MA 02368

Duration: 12 month (High possibility of extension)

Role Summary: 

The Mechanical Engineer I is responsible for the development of electro-pneumatic, industrial process control equipment. Part of a fast paced, multi-discipline team tasked to develop products that are cost effective, manufacturable, and that meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities include: 

Strong participant in multi-national, cross-disciplinary teams to develop new products.

Apply engineering principles to design mechanical components and assemblies 

Generate 3D models and 2D drawings using Computer Aided Design Tools 

Work with suppliers to obtain fast turn prototypes 

Validate technologies and product designs with implementation of comprehensive validation plans

Provide cost analysis for designs 

Participate in product certification process and certification maintenance. 

Generation of project requirements based on market needs. 

Developing engineering design concepts for components and electromechanical assemblies that have tough requirements for size, precision, reliability and cost.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent 

Understanding and applied use of Computer Aided Design tools such as SolidWorks or similar

Desired Qualifications: 

Experience designing machined metal, aluminum die casting, sheet metal, and plastic components

Demonstrated experience developing products for industrial automation control equipment strongly preferred

Experience designing electro-pneumatic valve positioners 

Experience with designing industrial control equipment for use in hazardous locations.

Experience with Flameproof/ Explosion Proof Design 

Experience with 3rd party product certification
