LOCATION: Camrose - Alberta  - Canada 

DEPARTMENT:  INDUSTRIAL OPERATIONS

LOCATION: Camrose - Alberta  - Canada 

DEPARTMENT:  Industrial Operations

Role

We are seeking a General Labourer (internally referred to as Class 1 Utility Labourer) position within the Production department are responsible for performing tasks such as shipping, pipe movements and operating production machinery in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures, complying with defined safety, quality and operations standards.  

Please note: Tenaris requires employees to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and fit test for this position as it is a safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities:

  • This specialty is an entry level position which can lead to progression to coating operators.
  • Perform material handing activities such as loading, unloading, and moving products and materials by hand or using material handling equipment such as conveyor belt, overhead crane or jib crane
  • Conduct and accurately complete pre-safety checklists
  • Assist with equipment setup and machine/line changeover in an efficient and safe manner
  • Using power and manual tools, complete tasks safely, efficiently and to quality standards
  • Carry out duties in an effective manner meeting safety, quality, productivity and efficiency standards
  • Ensure proper use of the company assets, as well as checking, and reporting of malfunctioning equipment
  • Attend and participate in training activities to maintain and increase company knowledge
  • Proactively suggest improvements and participate in continuous improvement activities
  • Actively participate in company safety procedures and programs: correct unsafe work practices or situations; follow reporting protocols for violations; participate in the Hazard Identification process
  • Perform other duties as required, including, but not limited to warehouse activities, housekeeping and administrative duties
  • Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances and attend and participate in department safety meetings

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in an industrial setting
  • Candidates with experience in shift work are preferred.
  • Knowledge of safe equipment operation and procedures, maintenance and cleaning standards 
  • Forklift certification, an asset
  • Jib Crane or Overhead certification is an asset
