We are seeking a hands-on, self-driven and highly collaborative R&D Manufacturing Engineer to join our Advanced Technology team, supporting new development projects and industrialization of new products, tooling and manufacturing processes. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys spending time on the shop floor, building hardware, operating equipment, fabricating parts, and solving practical manufacturing challenges. You will work directly with technicians, operators, and engineers to develop and improve manufacturing methods, tooling, and assembly processes.
While experience in composite materials manufacturing is highly desirable, we welcome candidates from a broad range of manufacturing backgrounds including aerospace, automotive, industrial equipment, machining, tooling, fabrication and product development.

What YOU will do
  1. Product & Manufacturing Development
    • Fabricate, assembly and evaluate prototype parts, tooling and manufacturing demonstrators
    • Operate and support manufacturing equipment
    • Work directly on the shop floor and in the lab to develop and refine manufacturing processes
    • Design, build and modify tooling, fixtures, jigs and assembly aids
    • Troubleshoot manufacturing and assembly issues
    • Perform process trials and document findings and lessons learned
    • Demonstrate ability to design for manufacturing and production readiness

  1. Tooling & Process Development
    • Develop practical manufacturing solutions using available equipment, tooling and materials
    • Fabricate or support fabrication of tooling
    • Support equipment set up, qualification and process validation activities
    • Evaluate new manufacturing technologies for future implementation

  1. Project & Supplier Management
    • Coordinate R&D builds, material ordering, trials and schedules
    • Manage vendors, suppliers and external technology partners
    • Support team initiatives and resource planning

What YOU must bring to Succeed
    • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
    • Familiarity with CAD software such as NX, CATIA or equivalent
    • Demonstrated interest in hands-on manufacturing or prototype development
    • Effective communicator
    • This position involves access to export-controlled technology which requires U.S. Person status or government authorization. A 'U.S. Person,' as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62, includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, individuals lawfully admitted for permanent residence (green card holders), and individuals granted asylum or refugee status in the United States. To be considered for this position, you must either be a U.S. Person or fall within a legally recognized export control exception or authorization. If hired, you will be required to provide valid proof of such status.

Estimate salary range for this role: $64,400 to $95,900 per year. ST Engineering MRAS considers several factors with extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, education/training/certification, job level, and work location. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
