Job Purpose
This is not an entry level graduate position, candidates need to demonstrate strong proven experience in project finance, M&A or transaction experience outside of summer internships.
As an experienced Analyst you will work across the various infrastructure funds managed by InfraRed, including:
  • The InfraRed Energy Transition Fund, a private open-ended fund, focusing on late-stage construction and operational renewable assets in the U.S. and Canada
  • HICL, a £3bn listed brownfield infrastructure fund; focusing on operational social, transport and regulated assets in developed countries, including in North America
  • All funds under the InfraRed's capital gains strategy focussed on value-add, greenfield-oriented infrastructure investments in assets and platforms globally including across the Americas. Target sectors include energy transition, circular economy, telecommunication, digital infrastructure, transportation etc.

The position based in New York and may be required to travel to other offices and project sites to assist in supporting transactions.
Key Job Responsibilities
  • Support the origination and execution (financial modelling and analysis, structuring, documentation) of infrastructure and energy investment opportunities with a primary focus on the Americas, with flexibility to work across other target regions
  • Assist in managing and reviewing due diligence and structuring work-streams including the management of technical, legal, and financial advisors and support in ESG, tax, insurance and other work streams
  • Assist in preparation of presentations of investment opportunities to the investment committee
  • Provide analytical and research support to the team on competitor analysis and market reviews
  • In depth examination of the investment portfolio to identify savings and other value enhancements such as refinancing
  • Provide support to the portfolio management and asset management teams including quarterly and Semi-annual valuations of the assets held in the portfolios, including review of financial model updates from project companies
  • Updating fund forecast models to look at future projections for business planning, modelling of equity returns and key commercial and financial inputs (including debt facilities and further equity capital raisings)
  • Cross collaboration with portfolio management, capital formation, and asset management teams including rotational placements to support reporting processes and board oversight

Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 1-3 years of infrastructure or energy experience from working with an investment bank, project finance advisor, developer, industrial sponsor, infrastructure fund, and/or lending institution (e.g. PPP/P3, renewable energy, energy & power, transportation...) is required outside of internship experience
  • Educated to degree level with a demonstrable strong academic record
  • Analytically rigorous and detail oriented particularly with regards to numerical analysis, written reports, and legal documentation
  • Proficient in financial modelling, with an eye for accuracy
  • Strong commitment to learning
  • Ability to manage several simultaneous initiatives and deliver work to agreed deadlines
  • Able to synthesize complex matters effectively and concisely
  • Able to grasp the key commercial drivers in relation to existing assets and new transactions, including key drivers for value enhancement
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AI tools
  • Solution oriented and keen to use personal initiative
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

The base salary range offered for this position is between $125,000- $135,000 per annum. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
