Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler will perform mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies and large components for OEM equipment, working both independently and as part of a team. This role involves reading and following entry-level blueprints, shop orders, specifications, and other manufacturing instructions to accurately build and assemble parts and equipment in a timely manner. The assembler will measure parts using precision tools, operate rigging equipment and overhead cranes, and contribute to the assembly of newly engineered machinery in a clean, well-lit facility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical assembly of sub-assemblies, mid-assemblies, and large components for OEM equipment.
  • Work independently and in teams within specified work areas to complete assemblies according to production requirements.
  • Read and follow entry-level blueprints, 2D and 3D prints, shop orders, specifications, and other manufacturing instructions to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Measure parts accurately using scales, micrometers, and calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Utilize overhead cranes and rigging procedures to safely move and position large components.
  • Use hand tools and power tools, as well as machine tools such as drill presses, band saws, and cut-off saws, to perform assembly and fabrication tasks.
  • Read and interpret schematics related to electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to assemble equipment correctly.
  • Assemble both mechanical and electro-mechanical components in accordance with quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain and use personal tools required for assembly work.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while working with machinery, tools, and rigging equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other employees to coordinate work and resolve assembly issues.
  • Contribute to a clean, organized, and well-lit work area by following housekeeping and 5S practices.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet production schedules and customer demand.

  • Ability to read and understand entry-level blueprints, 2D and 3D prints, schematics, and other manufacturing instructions.
  • Strong mechanical assembly skills, including experience with electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for assembly work.
  • Experience using machine tools such as drill press, band saw, and cut-off saw.
  • Ability to accurately measure parts using scales, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with rigging equipment and overhead crane operations.
  • Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and metric system conversions.
  • Ability to work independently with limited training and minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to complete assemblies and meet production goals.
  • Good oral and written communication skills to interact with employees and follow written instructions.
  • Capability to read and assemble sub-assemblies and mid-assemblies from 2D and 3D prints.
