At Joseph’s Classic Market, our Kitchen Prep Cooks play a vital role in creating the gourmet foods our customers love. This position supports both food preparation and case presentation, helping ensure our display cases reflect the quality, freshness, and attention to detail that have made us the best gourmet grocer in town.

As a Kitchen Prep Cook, you’ll gain hands-on experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and safety standards, while developing valuable culinary and organizational skills that can open the door to future opportunities within the Kitchen, Prepared Foods, or other departments. Routine Tasks:

  • Prepare and execute Joseph’s recipes for proteins, vegetables, starches, and other menu items
  • Maintain Joseph’s standards for product freshness and sanitation
  • Ensure all items are plated, packaged, and presented according to Joseph's quality and appearance standards
  • Replenish, rotate, and maintain products and display cases
  • Operate knives, ovens, stoves, grills, scales, wrapping machines, and other Kitchen equipment
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Food preparation or kitchen experience preferred
  • Food safety knowledge or ServSafe certification a plus

Physical & Work Environment
