Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Systems Engineering Intern with a Hardware Focus to support the development, integration, and validation of electronic control modules. This role offers hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers to understand how system and customer requirements translate into hardware features, circuit interfaces, module behavior, and validation activities.

The intern will support systems-level engineering activities with an emphasis on hardware understanding, bench and vehicle testing, requirements analysis, issue investigation, and cross-functional collaboration with hardware, software, validation, and product engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities may include:

  • Assist in reviewing, interpreting, and documenting customer, system, and hardware-related requirements for electronic control modules
  • Support system and hardware-level analysis, including circuit interface behavior, power distribution, signal integrity considerations, thermal considerations, and operating margin
  • Participate in bench and vehicle testing activities, including test setup, instrumentation, data collection, results documentation, and initial analysis
  • Use lab equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, loads, signal generators, and communication tools to support testing and troubleshooting
  • Help troubleshoot hardware, software, or system issues using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5-Why, or fault-tree analysis
  • Support updates to engineering benches, test fixtures, harnesses, load boxes, and lab capabilities used for hardware and system validation
  • Participate in design reviews, schematic reviews, requirements reviews, validation reviews, and technical discussions with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Documenting and presenting test results and system findings
Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits, electronic components, embedded systems, and hardware interfaces
  • Familiarity with electronic hardware schematics, block diagrams, and circuit functions
  • Familiarity with test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, electronic loads, or similar lab tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an interest in troubleshooting, testing, validation, and root cause analysis
  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work hands-on with electronic hardware, engineering benches, prototypes, test equipment, harnesses, and vehicle or system-level test environments
