The main difference between an Entry Level Pool Technician and a Pool Service Technician lies in experience and certifications. Entry level roles typically require minimal certifications and focus on basic pool maintenance, while Pool Service Technicians often have more experience and certifications, handling more complex tasks. Both roles work in similar environments, but the entry-level position is ideal for those starting in the industry.

Do you need experience to be an entry level pool technician?

Entry level pool technicians typically do not need prior experience, as training is often provided on the job. Basic knowledge of pool equipment and safety procedures can be helpful, but most employers hire candidates willing to learn and may require a valid driver's license. Certifications such as a lifeguard or pool operator license can enhance job prospects but are not always mandatory for entry-level positions.

How much do entry level pool technicians make?

Entry-level pool technicians typically earn between $12 and $16 per hour, depending on experience and location. Starting salaries may also include benefits such as training on pool maintenance tools and safety protocols.

Job description

Position Overview

We are looking for a moderately to highly experienced Pool Service Lead. In this role, you will provide pool services to residential and commercial clients alike. We perform our routes in teams of two, with one Pool Service Lead (this position) and one Pool Service Technician (our entry-level role). As the Lead, you would be the designated field expert. You would oversee the water panel and chemistry corrections and provide some physical cleaning in tandem with the Technician (vacuuming, skimming, brushing, emptying baskets, etc). You will be relied upon for mentorship and ensuring our clients' high standards are met.

    What We Do

We've tried to set ourselves apart from typical pool service companies by providing an upscale, concierge-style service. Our methodology includes a higher expectation for customer service and a willingness to go above and beyond for our clients, attempting to solve our clients' problems before they know they exist. We set our team up for success by utilizing the best equipment and training available, including Hammerhead Vacuums, SpinTouch water analysis machines, and more. It allows us to provide a higher-caliber service while retaining quick service speeds.

      Who We're Looking For

      • Experience: Minimum 3 months of experience working as a pool technician to apply. For the higher end of our pay scale, 2+ years of experience, CPO or higher certification, and/or experience with repairs and advanced equipment troubleshooting would be needed.
      • Dependability: Due to the nature of our business, dependability is a must for us. We're happy to create flexible schedules with advanced notice, but last-minute call-outs, no-shows, etc are particularly challenging for us to recover from.
      • Leadership: Should be comfortable not only working with one of our entry-level pool technicians, but also mentoring them on the trade.
      • Certification: CPO or higher certification is preferred. If not already obtained, the ability to pass a CPO or higher course within a few weeks of hire.

      Location & Schedule

      • Operating Schedule: We run year-round service 7 days per week
      • Hours: Shifts are typically 8-10 hours long, with occasional overtime available. Shifts generally start at about 6:00 AM
      • Availability: Weekday AM availability needed, occasional PM and/or weekend availability requested
      • Location: Our truck is garaged in North Phoenix, near Cave Creek Rd and the 101

      Compensation & Perks

      • Pay: $20-30 per hour, based on experience and certifications
      • Pay schedule: Get paid weekly, every Friday
      • Uniforms: Breathable, UV-blocking Carhartt polos are provided
      • Growth: A chance to grow with our company as we continue to secure additional commercial and residential clients
