The Sterile Processing Technician I (SP Tech I) is responsible for decontaminating, processing, and sterilizing instruments, supplies, and equipment by following established standards/guidelines. The SP Tech I demonstrates personal and professional effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of Central Service Technology Course/Or Equivalent Work Experience (at least one year experience in central sterile processing)
Work Experience: One (1) Year Work Experience in Central Sterile Processing. Can substitute for Central Service Technology course. (Preferred)
Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact), Writing/Reports (Legible handwriting and coherent writing)
Other Skills: Medical Terms (Surgical/ Medical Terminology Knowledge, Critical Thinking, Multi-task in a fast paced environment, Ability to lead projects ,Monitor and interpret results of gauges & Research surgical instruments and supply companies), PC (Basic entry level)
Work Schedule: Weekends, Holidays, Flexible, On Call
Equipment Operated: Sterilization Equipment, Decontamination Equipment, Computer/printer, Elevator System, Endoscopic Re-processors, Heat Sealer, Biological Incubators, Bar code Scanners, Computer software, Temperature Monitors, and Equipment Gauges, Visual Screen Monitors, Digital Camera, and Inter-department Paging Sys
