Job DescriptionBasic PurposeThis is a seasonal, part-time, entry-level position. We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team in maintaining facility standards, supporting animal welfare, and assisting with educational programming. This role requires a strong commitment to animal care, customer service, and physical labor in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Typical Function - Ensure housekeeping standards are met across all areas
- Perform trail, and animal enclosure upkeep, including repairs and cleaning
- Assist with general groundskeeping and facility organization
- Greet and assist visitors with professionalism and courtesy
- Develop and deliver educational programs (power point)
- Plan and lead arts and crafts activities
- Engage with guests in informed interpretation
- Lead guided hikes, bike rides, disc golf
- Perform minor trail maintenance
- Assist in event setup/takedown
- Complete daily opening/closing duties
- Routine grounds maintenance around Nature Center
Physical Requirements - Ability to regularly lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable with hiking and working on trails
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions (indoors and outdoors)
- Stamina for physically demanding tasks
Minimum Qualifications - Must be at least 16 years old
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Scheduled hours will require flexibility, including holidays, weekends, or events, based on the needs of the department
