Position Description
The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Division is dedicated to deliver exceptional, comprehensive, and holistic medical care. Our goal is to diagnose, treat, and manage functional impairment across a diverse variety of inpatient and outpatient educational settings. With integrity, empathy, and innovation, our physiatrists are trained to be outstanding physicians, teachers, leaders, and role models who improve lives, advance knowledge, and shape the future of physiatry.
Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.
Major/Essential Functions
  • Provide inpatient coverage for Trustpoint Rehabilitation Hospital.
    • 28-35 adult patients daily w/APRN support available
    • Call 1 to 2 weekends/month with call split among other adult providers
    • 72 bed facility with 130 admissions/month
    • Patient Diagnosis: 20% Stroke, 15% Trauma, 5-10% Spinal, and mix of Ortho, Debility
  • Train and Supervise PM&R Residents.
  • Optional VA appointment/clinic time.

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website at https://app4.ttuhsc.edu/payplan.

Required Qualifications
  • MD or DO.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in PM&R or in the process of becoming Board Eligible at the completion of training.
  • Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3.

Visa Information
TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
