We are expert injection molders of plastic for custom-made designs. The company capabilities range from high-precision medical molding to large projects utilizing structural foam injection molding. We custom mold parts across a wide range of industries, including medical, electronic, consumer, aviation, and automotive.

Job Description

The company is searching for an ideal candidate to fit the role of Jr. Plastics Processing Engineer. The Jr. Plastics Processing Engineer will oversee the running of plastic injection molding machines during their assigned shift (responsible for his/her shift). The candidate will conduct startups, mold setups/changeovers, optimize plastic manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, reduce cycle times, and increase overall equipment efficiency. This is an entry-level position with the potential for growth within the company. The successful candidate will assist in variousaspects of plastics processing, including scientific molding, troubleshooting, and process improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES • Assist in the daily operation of plastic injection molding machines, ensure smooth production runs and efficient processes • Process Optimization: Work with senior engineers to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and improve product quality by fine-tuning machine settings and troubleshooting technical issues • Quality Control Support: Assist the quality department by conducting quality checks and inspections of plastic parts, ensuring compliance with customer specifications. • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate on lean manufacturing initiatives aimed at improving production efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing overall product quality. • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of machine settings, process parameters, and production output. Report any issues or opportunities for improvement to senior engineers. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with other departments, including quality and production, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of projects. • Support New Part Development: Participate in the development and testing of new plastic components and processes, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with design specifications. • Conduct mold changes • Supervise overall shift run

JOB INFORMATION

  • Number of Job positions available: 1
  • Starting Salary: $29 Hourly.
  • Workweek: Sunday-Thursday 11pm - 7:30am strictly night shift
Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS • Scientific Molding Experience (plastic injection molding) • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement • Ability to read part drawings and perform basic quality inspections • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately. • Good communication skills and a collaborative team player. • Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering or a related field • Experience in plastic processing • Direct experience with lean manufacturing
