Responsibilities

A Pharmacy Technician trainee is an entry-level position in which the trainee learns the job skills of a pharmacy technician.

Examples of duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Waits on customers, answers phone and operates cash register in the Pharmacy; 
  • Operates the computer, inputs data, looks up refills, and retail prices of prescription drugs; 
  • Calls doctors' office for authorization to refill prescriptions (California only); 
  • Receives orders from patient; 
  • Types pharmacy labels (California only); 
  • Checks in merchandise and stocks shelves; 
  • Conducts general housekeeping duties when needed; 
  • Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacist with filling prescriptions and pull prescription merchandise from shelves.

  • You will get paid while you train in the pharmacy to learn different aspects of the pharmacy under the pharmacist's supervision
  • After 1500 hours of training, you can apply for a Pharmacy Technician License with the Nevada Board of Pharmacy!

Pharmacy Technician schools require completion of 6-12 month of course work and these programs cost thousands of dollars.  This is a great opportunity to obtain your Pharmacy Technician license without the cost of an expensive program all while getting paid to train.
