Job description

  • Company: "Join Spolidoro & Sons, Inc and build a career in the high-demand world of mechanical construction. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual to learn the ropes of project bidding and procurement from our senior team." Call Bill Spolidoro to arrange an interview at 978-758-8656 !
  • Key Responsibilities (Combined Role):
    • Estimation: Learn to perform project "take-offs" from blueprints and calculate labor/material costs.
    • Purchasing: Negotiate with supply houses and manage inventory levels to ensure field teams have what they need.
    • Communication: Act as the bridge between the office, field crews, and vendors.
  • Ideal Qualifications (Entry-Level):
    • Must-Haves: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, strong math skills, and a "mechanical mind" (ability to visualize how systems fit together).
    • Nice-to-Haves: Prior field experience as a plumber's helper or apprentice is a massive plus.
    • Education: High school diploma or GED; a degree in Construction Management or Finance is helpful but not always required for entry-level.

Skill Type

Critical Traits for an Estimator/Purchaser

Technical

Blueprint reading basics, knowledge of piping materials (PEX, PVC, Copper), and basic geometry.
