Job description

I'm 26 years old, living with family in San Ramon, and hiring caregivers to help cover afternoon and overnight shifts. I don’t need you to have any prior knowledge or training in caregiving settings—just be willing to learn! Beginner friendly and entry level.
All training required is offered on the job and paid.
Job duties:
• help bathing
• help transferring to and from my wheelchair, the toilet chair, and my bed using a battery-powered Hoyer lift (extremely easy to learn to use, not complicated)
• help dressing
• help preparing food
• light housework
• transportation via OUR wheelchair-accessible van (we will pay for gas)
• assist with my power soccer practices on most Saturdays
• assist with setting up for my hobbies (ex: painting, crafts, baking/cooking, Lego sets, videogames)
---
Hours and pay:

Available shifts include...
Weekdays: afternoon (3:30 pm to 9:30 pm) and overnight shifts (10 pm to 10 am)
Weekends: Saturday morning (10 am to 1 pm) and afternoon (1 pm to 7 pm), Sunday morning (10 am to 4 pm) and evening (4 pm to 9:30 pm)
No live-in.
Paid only through In Home Support Services (IHSS) and Waiver Personal Care Services (WPCS). You will need to register for both. The rate in Contra Costa County is $20.03/hour.
If you haven’t worked with these payroll services before, we can discuss how they work once your application is submitted. We will guide you through the process of registering with them if you aren't already familiar. Both programs provide full back-pay to compensate for any delays in payment.
---
What I'm looking for:
Firm requirements:
• Due to my medical vulnerabilities all applicants MUST have their up-to-date vaccinations for the flu, COVID-19, and measles.
• You will need to pass a driving background check before you drive our van.
Skills most appreciated:
punctuality/reliability
• patient listening
• proactive task preparation and fulfillment once the routine is learned
• spatial awareness
• clear communication - any ASL skill is a bonus, but not necessary
• flexibility on day-to-day tasks
---
Application process:
If the ad is up, I’m hiring. I value both of our time, and I want to make sure we both know what to expect.
Begin the process by applying via ZipRecruiter. Next, I will contact you about your application once it is submitted. If your application is approved, we will schedule a phone or Zoom interview. After that is an in-person interview at our home. Finally, you must successfully complete a paid trial shift. If all of these steps are completed and we both feel positive about you taking the position, you will be officially hired.
---
Thank you for your interest - I look forward to receiving your application!
