Job description

Memorial Community Hospital & Health System (MCH) is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Access Representativeย in aย full-time status at our Specialty Clinic in Blair, Nebraska. You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient patient registration and providing excellent customer service. You will be responsible for performing patient registrations, verifying and updating patient demographic and insurance information, and assisting with various administrative tasks. This role is essential in maintaining the highest standards of patient care and confidentiality.

What Youโ€™ll Do:

  • Shift Details: Full-time position, no weekends.ย 
  • Operate a multi-line phone system including taking electronic phone notes, transferrin calls as requested and appointment scheduling.ย 
  • Patient Registration including verifying and updating patient/guarantor demographic and insurance information.
  • Collect and update copies of Medicare, Medicaid, and all other insurance cards during registration.
  • Obtain signatures on consent to treat and HIPAA forms when necessary.
  • Collect all co-pays and provide receipts or document transactions as per policy.
  • Perform cash drawer balancing at the start and end of each shift.
  • Scan Advance Directives, Living Will, and Durable Power of Attorney paperwork into the EMR as appropriate.
  • Be willing and able to be flexible in scheduling and role expectations to best meet patient needs.
  • Adhere to MCH policies/procedures regarding confidentiality of information and any applicable department/position requirements.

What Weโ€™re Looking For:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age to serve as a witness on required forms.
  • At least two years of customer service or clerical experience required.
  • At least two years of hospital and/or health clinic reception experience preferred.
  • General insurance knowledge and medical terminology preferred.ย
