Job description

The Science Team at Pride Health is currently supporting a client in the Materials Science industry that is looking to hire Engineering Technician in Maplewood, MN.


Position Summary:

This is an entry-level engineering position suitable for recent graduates or candidates with up to one year of relevant experience. This Engineering Technician role supports packaging design, development, and implementation activities under general supervision. The position involves researching packaging solutions, analyzing data, supporting packaging projects, and collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to improve packaging performance, quality, and compliance. This is an entry-level engineering position suitable for recent graduates or candidates with up to one year of relevant experience.


Additional Details:

Pay range: $20- $24/hour on W2 as per your experience

Contract Length: 12 Months with the possibility of extension


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide entry-level packaging engineering support to assigned business units and projects.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of packaging solutions.
  • Support modifications and improvements to existing package designs, methods, and processes.
  • Research, analyze, and interpret packaging-related data and business information.
  • Work with packaging material suppliers and contract packaging vendors to obtain cost estimates, samples, and design specifications.
  • Follow applicable federal, state, and international packaging regulations and standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams focused on process improvements, product enhancements, and documentation development.
  • Manage and retrieve packaging and business data from departmental databases and systems.
  • Assist with quality management initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, communication, and follow-up actions.
  • Contribute to graphics design and packaging artwork projects of limited scope.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and supporting documentation as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or any Engineering discipline required.
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • 0โ€“1 year of relevant engineering or packaging experience.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and industry practices.
  • Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and evaluate alternative solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant engineering/computer software.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
