Magnusson Klemencic Associates (MKA) is a 160-person structural and civil engineering firm with a century of practice in Seattle, WA. We're seeking an Entry-Level BIM Modeler to join our structural engineering team and contribute to complex projects across the United States and internationally.


This is a full-time, in-office position where you'll work alongside highly skilled structural engineers and modeling professionals on large commercial, institutional, and residential buildings.


Responsibilities


MKA’s Building Information Modelers develop Revit models and structural engineering drawing sets and are skilled at advancing complex drawings and models.


As part of a collaborative project team, you will:

  • Employ strong verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of professionalism
  • Focus on accuracy with strong attention to detail
  • Produce models/drawings consistent with instruction, guidelines, and MKA standards
  • Work independently and as a team to meet multiple deadlines with precision and accuracy
  • Effectively utilize time management skills, including organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization
  • Develop detailed Revit models and structural drawing sets in alignment with MKA standards
  • Coordinate closely with engineers and BIM team members to clearly communicate technical information
  • Learn the development of complex models and help resolve interdisciplinary modeling conflicts
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives and foster a collaborative, team-oriented work environment
  • Continue expanding skills through training, mentorship, and increasing levels of responsibility
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education in architecture, engineering, or BIM design technology
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience using Revit
  • Experience in the A/E/C industry (structural engineering preferred, not required)
  • Strong understanding of construction documents and the ability to interpret drawing sets with accuracy
  • Ability to understand and apply engineering markups, calculations, and sketches
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Rhino + Grasshopper, Revit + Dynamo, or coding custom Revit add-ins
  • Experience modeling concrete, steel, and mass timber structural systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines concurrently
  • Experience modeling structures using Tekla
